Kazupak Trade opens gypsum plant in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan: Kazupak Trade has released information about the construction of its 500t/day gypsum plant in Taraz. Construction work at the site started in 2015 and it was commissioned in October 2016. Equipment for the plant was bought from Turkey's Erişim Makina. The plant started full operation in November 2016. The gypsum producer intends to build a second production line within the next 10 years. It sells gypsum under the brand 'Kazgyps.'

JSC Zhambylgips to modernise gypsum plant in Zhambyl

Kazakhstan: A new gypsum building mixtures plant will be launched in Zhambyl by the end of 2015, according to the Kazinform International News Agency. The project has been initiated under the state programme, 'Industrialisation Map of Kazakhstan.'

JSC Zhambylgips is modernising the existing plant for US$9.09m. Once complete, the plant will have 270,000t/yr dry compounds and gypsum products capacity and will employ 50 people. It is assumed that the plant will produce about 600t/day of gypsum. The products will be delivered to local and foreign markets, mainly in Russia and central Asia.

Zhambylgypsum to start gypsum production in late 2015

Kazakhstan: Zhambylgypsum plans to start a gypsum production line in the Zhambyl region by the end of 2015, according to the ADM Kazakhstan Capital Restructuring Fund.

"This will be the first such facility in the post-Soviet era. The plant will produce 600t/day of gypsum and 15m3/hr of fluff perlite, 7t/hr of calcite flour and 30t/hr of dry mortar," said Zhambylgypsum head Kaynarbek Kusayynov.

ADM Kazakhstan Capital Restructuring Fund, part of Kazyna Capital Management, provided funds for the project, in particular for the expansion of production capacities and purchase of gypsum calcination equipment. ADM KCRF was set up in 2010 with capital standing at US$100m. Its main investors are the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and JSC Kazyna Capital Management.
