Kyrgyzstan: The government has enacted a temporary ban on imports of goods for which Kyrgyzstan is 100% domestically self-sufficient. This includes gypsum wallboard, which is produced at Mega Union Industry’s 10Mm2/yr Dostuk plant in Jalal-Abad. Central Asia News has reported that the ban is subject to Eurasian Economic Union rules, which mean that it does not apply to imports from neighbouring Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus and Russia.
