China: Saint-Gobain Asia-Pacific commissioned a new, 64Mm²/yr gypsum wallboard plant at Kaiping, Guangdong province, on 10 July 2026. The producer said that the plant features automation, with a waste heat recovery plant, closed-loop water recycling systems and a captive renewable power supply. It will recycle 500,000t/yr of industrial by-products as ingredients in its gypsum wallboard production.
