Peru: France-based Saint-Gobain has acquired construction chemicals producer QSI Productos para la Construcción. Saint-Gobain’s existing local construction chemicals platform includes the Soquimic, Weber and Z Aditivos brands.
National Gypsum Company explains delay to first half 2026 results
Saudi Arabia: National Gypsum Company has provided an explanation to the Saudi Exchange for its delay in reporting its financial results for the first half of 2026, first disclosed on 11 August 2026. In a supplementary announcement submitted to the exchange on 17 August 2026, the producer explained that its external auditor has requested ‘additional technical reports’ on certain items in the results. This required it to engage accredited external specialists, adding to the results’ preparation time.
National Gypsum Company is now coordinating with the external auditor and relevant specialists to publish the results.
Knauf Brasil commissions biomethane station at Queimados gypsum wallboard plant
Brazil: Knauf Brasil and biomethane producer Gás Verde have commissioned a biomethane station at the Queimados gypsum wallboard plant in Rio de Janeiro state. The station will use biomethane derived from landfill sites to generate energy to power the plant’s operations.
In a post to LinkedIn, Knauf Brasil said that the biomethane station will cover 33% of the Queimados plant’s energy consumption and eliminate 9500t/yr of CO₂ equivalent Scope 2 emissions.
National Gypsum Company delays publication of first-half 2026 results
Saudi Arabia: National Gypsum Company has informed the Saudi Exchange of its failure to report preliminary financial results for the first half of 2026 within the regulatory deadline. The producer explained that it is working with its external auditor to finalise the results for immediate publication upon internal approval, within 20 trading sessions of any ensuing suspension of its shares.
National Gypsum Company previously recorded a loss in the first quarter of 2026. Then-CEO Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Ghadeer resigned in April 2026, and the company began statutory reserve transfers to offset accumulated losses later that month.
