Kyrgyzstan: A new 10Mm²/yr gypsum wallboard plant has launched in Dostuk, Jalal-Abad. The plant additionally commands 60,000t/yr of plaster production capacity. It cost a total of US$11.7m and has created 80 new jobs.

24.kg News has reported that the Dostuk plant is intended to reduce import dependence. Kyrgyzstan imported 8.5Mm² of gypsum wallboard in the first nine months of 2025.

Cabinet Chair and Chief of Staff Adylbek Kasymaliev said "According to the results of the first 10 months of this year, construction materials production exceeded US$572m, 8% of industrial production. The industrial sector is demonstrating steady positive growth, which is impacting overall macroeconomic indicators. Under these conditions, the opening of a new plant is of strategic importance."

Germany: Kamal Ghezelbash has retired from Claudius Peters. His most recent position was as Senior Sales Manager Gypsum, a role he has held since 2015. He started working for the company in 2007 as Sales Manager Gypsum before later becoming Territory Sales Manager. Earlier in his career he held sales roles with Schleuter Maschinen and Rovema Packaging Machines, and a Project Manager position with Nordson. Ghezelbash is an engineering graduate from the University of Flensburg.

Brazil: France-based Saint-Gobain has sold building materials retail chain Tumelero to holding company GG10. Tumelero operates 16 outlets and a distribution facility in Rio Grande do Sul, with 580 employees and sales of US$46.5m in 2024.

Saint-Gobain retains its Telhanorte retail chain and 58 building materials production facilities in Brazil.
